I wish I could muster up any excitement about music anymore. There are a few albums that grab me, but in general anything new I listen to just doesn't make me feel anything. But then there are a select few that affect me almost *too* much. Like when I listen to anything by Arcade Fire, it almost strangles me with emotion, I get chills down my spine and I can barely breathe, and tears come to my eyes. So why is it that I can never seem to find anything to download on Emusic? Every month I browse through their stuff trying to find something that's worth my 30 songs, but nothing really jumps out at me. Maybe it's because the core group of bands that I like make me feel so much, that everything else is mediocre in comparison. I'd rather just listen to Bob Dylan or Belle & Sebastian or Yo La Tengo for the millionth time than waste time listening to something that's just ok but not great.

Is there anyone out here who still reads this thing that can suggest something worth the 45 minutes?

P.S. My family is seriously fucked up and it's getting quite difficult to deal with.
